          We took the 4-wheelers and the mule up to Wheelers Pass and we were not able to make it to the top due to all the snow.  Ffortunately, we were able to find a nice hill to sled down (minus the two trees and stump yikes).  Also, the boys found a cliff to jump off into the powder.  I also was brave enough to do it!  Well, sort of.  I slid to the edge on my butt then jumped (only because there was no other option but to jump).   The best part was the great snowman we made and the herd of elk we saw on the way back.  They were so close to us.

     Steele has had a great season so far in wrestling. He has had 2 tournaments and has won both in his weight division. He was very proud to get his trophies. I think what is so much fun for Steele are the opening ceremonies where they introduce all the teams and they run around the gym, and having his independence in between the matches. He loves to walk around watching other kids, checking the brackets, and being TOLD to eat chocolate for energy. You don't dare feed them before weigh ins and then after weigh ins you start shoveling in the food. Poor Sedona. I use her to demonstrate what I'm talking about to Steeles dad regarding a move they learned in practice. Sitting at football games is nothing compared to 6-7 hour days at wrestling. The first tourney was 7 hrs and the second we were there for 6 hrs. We are out the door by 6:15am and not home until after 4. So glad we do not have our next one until New Years Day. I'm very excited to see his progression as the season continues.

Sharks 2010

     Steele has such a great season with the Sharks this year.  He really enjoyed being the running back and half back this year.  He also played free safety and outside linebacker on defense.  His main concern going to practice was if Sedona was going to come.  She did have to miss a few practices due to the weather, but was able to make it to every game.  It was fun to watch him mature as a player and really learn the game.  There is one game that stands out.  He was just an animal on the field.  The coaches called him Ray Lewis.   It was the first thing he said when he ran off the field.  I'm glad he knew who Ray Lewis was and his reputation.  He is looking forward to the Rush next year (I'm a bit nervous since to kids are so much bigger), but he is excited.  Every game he would watch the Rush walk to the field doing their chant.  The passion he has for the game of football is very exciting to witness as a mom.   We have watched the documentary "Boys of Fall"  I can't tell you how many times.  I can't wait to see where it will lead him in his future.  So far it is either Boise State or Texas.  I'm hoping for something closer lol.

June has been a busy first month of life for Sedona.  She been camping, to the Mandalay pool,  local bull riding event, and hiking at Red Rock.  It is so much different this time around.  With Steele I didn't dare go anywhere if I knew it was nap time or feeding time. I have had to pull over twice already in the car to feed her.   I have enjoyed my time this summer being with Steele.  We have been busy with the junior golf, basketball camp, and finally football camp.  Before I know it I will be back at work and Steele will be back in school.  How the time flies by. We are looking forward to more great outings this summer with the family.

Lakside 2010. We tried a very close camping trip to test the new trailer and a new baby. She did great even though Brian was skeptical. Can't just stop life because of a baby I tell him. Out of five people I was the only one who heard her which meant I was up feeding her.lol She also got to go to a local bull riding event. Once again we were blessed with cool temps for the month of June.

I took these pictures of Steele and Sedona with our dog Bailey the day we made the hard decision to put her to sleep. She had outlasted her years of living for a rottweiler. All winter I was just hoping she would hold on until Sedona was born and she did. The first time Bailey heard Sedona cry she just perked up and came over to the door ready to welcome her new baby. We have always had great luck with rottweilers and when the time is right we will be getting another one.

This year Mike and Nik were only able to come out for a short time so we planned a staycation at the Mandalay Bay. Steele was excited to have his cousins here and to have his friend Gunnar go with him to Mandalay Bay. We had fun at the pool Wednesday evening then of course the food court is always a great time. On Thursday Mika came into town with Grady to meet up with us at the pool. We were so sure Steele was tall enough for the wave pool, but we were wrong. The male lifegaurd gave him a wrist band, but the not so nice female lifeguard took it away. I was cursing her under my breath. So, the next day he just went in with a group and was able to catch a few waves before being caught. He still had a great time in the lazy river and the hot tub talking to girls. That boy can start a conversation with anyone. I got so lucky with the weather since I had Sedona with us. Grandma was also there to help with the boys and Sedona. Could not have done it without her.

BABY SEDONA and RIDING HIS BIKE TO SCHOOL

The school year is coming to an end and the one thing Steele has been wanting to do is ride his bike to school. We parked in a housing development that has a gate that leads to the school yard. He was so excited to do this. I jokingly told him I would watch him with my binoculars which I think embarrassed him. I got the MOM NO! Funny because two days ago I was at his school reading to his class and he could not keep from wanting kisses and to sit by him at his desk. It has been great being off of work and able to take and pick him up from school. We are looking forward to field day and a great summer ahead.

May has been a busy month for us. So glad it is coming to an end. Sedona was born on May 18, 2010 and weighed 7lbs 2oz. I am a terrible anesthesia patient and was completely out of it for the c-section. After half a day and night of vomiting and dry heaving I finally began to feel better. I will have a story to tell her about her name when she is older. I woke up the next day to find out that everyone was calling her Sedona. I guess the whole "you snooze you lose" applied to me. Steele was able to come by the next day and was so excited. Who would have thought eating hospital food together in bed could be so fun! He was disappointed he would not be able to hold her since she was in the nicu, but he was able to peek in the window and watch her eat. How lucky Sedona will be to have a big brother to keep the boys in line, teach her how to fish and hunt, and be a sporty girl. Steele is also lucky to have a big sister and now a little sister. We have all settled in nicely and things are going well. We are looking forward to a great summer ahead.

March has been a great month for Steele. He is very excited to be playing Rookie ball. Once he found out what he was playing for the Twins he had to have a Twins flat hat. One of the dads asked Steele if he wanted his hat to be curved. He said he would do it while Steele was practicing his batting. Steele had a nervous giggle not sure if the dad was serious. We are all looking forward to a great season.
Steele was also student of the month for March. He just kept saying "I can't believe I'm student of the month." We are all very proud of him for his great grades and hard work.

New addtion to the family!!

This was a perfect picture moment because Steele was at this appointment and the ultrasound tech told Steele his sister was waving at him.

We are all very excited for the new addition to the family. Steele is very excited to make her a Broncos fan. The poor girl will be brainwashed by a Patriots fan, Colts fan, and a Broncos fan. That will last until she picks her own team. Steele can't wait to drive her to Subway, take her on the ski lifts, and show her how to ride the dirt bike. I have seen through Steele's reaction and excitement that this is truly the best gift I could give him as a parent. She will be so lucky to have a wonderful big brother.
