This is Steele taking an active part in the NFR. Anytime he wants to do something he has to go all out. It can be anything from football, baseball, firefighting, motocross, and even watching the Deadliest Catch. Steele has to dress the part. Our most challenging outfit was the Deadliest Catch. It wasn't so much the outfit it was finding something to make the cage they throw in the water to catch the fish. I love how his imagination works. I wonder when the day will come that we can just go out and throw the ball around without having to get decked out in our football/baseball gear. Secretly, I hope it never comes.

POWERHOUSE WRESTLING

I finally convinced Steele to do wrestling this winter. He is really enjoying himself. He knows quite a few kids from his school and football. I am beginning to think he will get hurt more in wrestling than in football. The second day he was taken down face first into the mat which resulted in a bloody nose. I'm sure there will more to come with elbows and knees flying around.

Such a physical sport. Steele is tired when he gets home. Love it!!!

Camping October 2009

We took advantage of a four day weekend and went camping. The leaves are changing and the colors were beautiful. Steele saved some leaves to show his classmates. Steele and Brian were lucky enough to see a deer run up the hill by our camp. All weekend we were hoping to see the Big Daddy Buck but never got a chance.
You're not camping unless you roast up some marshmallows.
Grandma and Grandpa came up and brought the gator. We enjoyed taking them to check out the scenery. There are a ton of foot trails so the hiking is great. Grandma showed Steele how to look for pine nuts in the pine cones.
This is a fort that Brian had made. He even dug out a hole in the back of the fort. This fort was under fire quite a bit this weekend. We always stay in the same spot and the funny thing is that there was still remains of the old fort from the last trip.

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

The Sharks got to experience what it really feels like to be a high school football player. The Sharks and the Rush were recognized by the PVHS Trojan football team Friday night. Steele was so excited to run the tunnel with the varsity football. The Sharks also got to show off their skills in an intersquad scrimmage exhibition game. You can't tell much by the pictures, but Steele is on defense (left of screen) closest in the picture otherwise known as outside line backer. Gunnar is on offense (rt side) closest to camera with gray long sleeves. It was a fun night for all.
