FOOTBALL CAMP 2009

Steele had great time at his first football camp. He received a certificate and a pack of football cards for completing the 2 hr a day week long camp! We all learned some great philosophy connecting responsibility and behaviors required in football with everyday life. Attitude=Altitude (What level you want to achieve), the 4 C's (Confidence, Consistency, Character, and Commitment), and the three pillars of leadership (It's not about me, Move the Chains, and Passion) were some key ones. He especially enjoyed getting to HIT the tackle dummy!!! Congrats on a great week Steele!!

OCEANSIDE, CA 2009

It was our annual summer trip to Oceanside, CA. Steele was excited as ever to see his cousins Mike and Nik. It was a short trip this sumer for Mike and Nik due to their football schedule. It is hard to see them grow up and even harder for Steele to see them for a short time. The trip started a 3:00 in the morning with all the boys riding in the motor home playing the Wii and watching movies. Steele finally fell back asleep, but only for 30min. He was definitely on overdrive. The twins met up with some of their friends from previous years two of which were girls. Steele wanted so bad to hang with the teenagers and go to the club house to play pool and sit in the jacuzzi. (Of course I was such a mean mom for not letting him). Oh how many times I heard that. The teenage girls even had my little guy starry eyed. I was relieved when he finally started to find friends his own age to play with. We are already trying to plan next years trip. A few tears were shed as the boys left town. They are headed to Dallas to see their other cousin Codi, attend a football camp with Larry Brown, and spend the 4th of July at the lake house with Codi.

Steele's kindergarten celebration!!

Steele had his kindergarten celebration today and we all watched proudly as both morning classes sang several songs together and accepted their certificates. Steele was so proud and had an ear to ear grin the whole time!! His shirt stayed tucked in for only half of the program though!! A few select students presented each song and Steele was one of them!! He did great! Only a couple of tears from Mom as she stayed strong. What will she do in 12 yrs is another story!! The teachers did an awesome job getting the kids ready and preparing the program.

Our ski trip

We had an awesome two days at Brian Head, UT. Steele was moved up to a level III skier after a full day of one on one training with an instructor. The next day he hit the slopes confident and excited!! Without fear he went down the mountain, over jumps, through powder and even a couple of trails into the tree line!! The weather was perfect and we all had an incredible time!
